School History
Lake Anne Elementary School first opened its doors to students on January 17, 1967. Our school was the first elementary school built in the Reston community. One of the founding principles of Reston was that people should be able to live, work, play, and go to school in the same community. Initial planning for our school started all the way back in 1962 when the Master Plan for the town of Reston was created. Our school would play a crucial role in the design of Reston's first village center, Lake Anne. We invite you to explore some facets of our unique and fascinating history.
