30th Anniversary of the Spanish Immersion Program

We are proud to celebrate 30 years of our Spanish Immersion Program! Lake Anne offers an immersive experience that fosters bilingualism and cultural awareness, equipping students with valuable skills for a globalized world.

 Eco-School Honors

Lake Anne Elementary is proud to be recognized as an Eco-School, earning four Green Flags, including the prestigious “Lifetime” Green Flag Achievement Award. This honor highlights our unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, stewardship, and education.

Thriving Community Garden

Our community garden provides students with hands-on learning experiences in environmental science, teamwork, and healthy living. It’s a space where students can nurture plants, learn about sustainability, and enjoy the beauty of nature right on campus.

Significant Drop in Chronic Absenteeism 

Thanks to the strong relationships between staff and students, Lake Anne has seen a 12% decrease in chronic absenteeism. We prioritize relationship-building, making school a place where students feel valued, welcomed, and excited to learn.

New School Mural: “Water and Warmth”

Our new mural, “Water and Warmth,” reflects the heart of Lake Anne Elementary and our surrounding Reston community. Supportive and Engaged Families & PTA

Our families and PTA are at the core of Lake Anne’s supportive environment. Through volunteerism, events, and partnerships, our families enrich the school experience, helping to create an uplifting atmosphere for all students.

At Lake Anne, our school is a family. Many of our staff and families are former Lake Anne Dolphins themselves, making this school a place rich with history, pride, and a deep sense of community. 

Blooming Authors Event 

Each year, our Blooming Authors event celebrates student voices. Every student has the opportunity to write, edit, and refine a poem, culminating in the publication of our annual anthology. It’s a proud moment where students become published authors!

Instilling a Love for Music

Our music program is unique, offering band, strings, and chorus to students from grade 4—a year earlier than most schools. Through these programs, students discover and deepen their love for music, with opportunities to perform and grow as musicians.
