In a true community endeavor, Lake Anne Elementary School students, alumni, teachers, and families came together to paint a Community Circles mural using student artwork. A community painting day was held as a way to launch the new school year while offering an opportunity for Lake Anne students to visit with each other and their teachers while giving back to their community. South Lakes High School senior and Lake Anne alumnus Dillon Melnick and Lake Anne alumna and teacher Lorrie-Ann Melnick organized the event and worked together to use Lake Anne student artwork to design the mural, located down the street from the school at the intersection of Fairway Drive and North Shore Drive.  Materials and support were provided by Lake Anne administrators, the PTA, Reston Association, and local businesses.
